Monday March 29th
bellevue rendezvous
Bellevue Rendezvous features an unusual combination of
instruments – the line up is Gavin Marwick (fiddle), Ruth Morris, (nyckelharpa)
and Cameron Robson (cittern/ jaw harp). The nyckelharpa, rarely seen in the UK
, is a beautifully toned instrument in the viola register with many resonant
strings which give it a rich full sound. It has a darker, grainier tone than
the fiddle which allows for greater depth in the interplay between the
instruments. The cittern supplies much more than rhythm, with creative use of
chords and harmony. Their shows keep concert hall audiences enthralled and
dance floors full.
SALAMANDER is the excellent
second album from this acoustic instrumental trio. Sensitive and
dynamic arrangements showcase original material and tunes from across Europe .
An dros, freilachs, reels and other dance tunes interweave effortlessly with
airs and performance pieces.
In the Community Hall ~ 8pm
Tickets available at the door ~ £7/£5
